Usage Data is collected automatically when using the Service. It may include Your Device's IP address, browser type and version, the pages You visit, the time and date of Your visit, the time spent on those pages, sign-in activity, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.

When You use the Service on a mobile device, We may also collect the type of device, its unique ID, IP address, operating system and the mobile browser You use.

04Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and Your browser's local storage to keep You signed in, remember Your cart and progress, and — only if You agree — to understand how the Website is used. You can change Your choice at any time.

Cookies can be "Persistent" (they remain on Your device when You go offline) or "Session" cookies (deleted when You close Your browser). We use the following:

We also store some information in Your browser's local storage — such as Your shop cart, quiz progress and selected plan — so it is still there when You come back. It stays on Your device and is cleared when You clear Your browser data.

You can also tell Your browser to refuse all cookies; if You do, some parts of the Service (such as signing in) will not work.

We may use Your information to evaluate or conduct a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganisation, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of Our assets, in which Personal Data about Our users is among the assets transferred.

06Sharing Your Information

We do not sell Your Personal Data. We may share it in the following situations:

  • With Service Providers: who help Us run the Service — payment providers (PayPal, Flutterwave, Vodacom M-Pesa, Tingg/Cellulant), cloud hosting and file storage (Amazon Web Services), email delivery, live chat (JivoChat), Google Sign-In and Google Analytics. They may only use Your data to provide their service to Us.

  • With other users: in trivia, other players can search for You by name or email to send a challenge, and see Your name and scores in battles You take part in.
  • For business transfers: in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of Company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or part of Our business.
  • With Affiliates: including Masomo Point, who must honour this Privacy Policy.
  • With Your consent: for any other purpose You agree to.

07How Long We Keep Data

We keep Your Personal Data only for as long as necessary for the purposes in this Privacy Policy, and as needed to comply with Our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce Our agreements.

Payment and order records are kept as long as required for accounting and tax purposes. Usage Data is generally kept for a shorter time, unless it is used to strengthen security or improve the Service, or We are legally required to keep it longer.

08International Transfers

Your information is processed at the Company's offices and wherever the parties involved in processing are located — including the servers of Our cloud providers. It may be transferred to and stored on computers outside Your country, where data protection laws may differ.

By accepting this Privacy Policy and submitting Your information, You agree to that transfer. We take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure Your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy, and do not transfer it to an organisation or country unless adequate controls are in place.

To make a request, contact Us using the details below.

Please note: We may need to keep certain information — such as payment records — where We have a legal obligation or lawful basis to do so.

10Legal Disclosure

Business transactions

If the Company is involved in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, Your Personal Data may be transferred. We will give notice before it becomes subject to a different Privacy Policy.

Law enforcement

We may be required to disclose Your Personal Data by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities, such as a court or government agency.

Legal requirements

We may disclose Your Personal Data in the good-faith belief that it is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect rights, prevent wrongdoing or protect public safety.

11Security

We protect Your data with measures such as encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls, and short-lived, signed links for Shop downloads.

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or of electronic storage is 100% secure. While We use commercially acceptable means to protect Your Personal Data, We cannot guarantee its absolute security.

12Children's Privacy

The Service is built for students preparing for examinations, many of whom are under 18. Students under 18 should use the Service with the knowledge and consent of a parent, guardian or their school.

We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from anyone under the age of 13 without verifiable consent from a parent, guardian or school. If You are a parent or guardian and believe Your child has given Us Personal Data without consent, please contact Us and We will remove it.

Where Your country requires parental consent to process Your information, We may require it before We collect and use that information.

14Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the "Last updated" date above, and let You know by email and/or a prominent notice on the Service before the change takes effect.

You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes are effective when they are posted on this page.
